Hello there dear non-swedish speaking friends and welcome to Biologica rf

We are the subject association for all bioscience students and alumni that study or have studied at Åbo akademi university

Our association was formed in 2019 when the existing ones for biology (Dendriticum rf) and biochemistry (biotica rf) merged to form our lovely organisation.

So what is a subject association?

Biologica rf is the face of all bioscience students at ÅAU. We are an organisation for students run by students, essentially the biologist society. Our primary purpose is creating a tightly knit community of bioscience students, while simultaneously making sure that the academic needs of students are met by the staff. We work together with both the student union, staff, and other student organisations to make sure that our studies match the quality one would come to expect from them, and that the general atmosphere is as pleasant as possible.

On top of that we have lots of less serious activities that mainly serve to make student life much more enjoyable. The most common, and probably most appreciated thing, is our coffee room. Our members can take a much needed break there, enjoy a cup of free coffee, and socialize with fellow biologists.

Our party culture is also rumored to be legendary. We usually host several events each month to help lighten the stress of our hard studies. Events such as sitz parties, party cruises, outdoor adventures, competitions and much more. All of our party events can of course be enjoyed completely alcohol free, and nobody is ever forced to do anything against their will.

But we don't just host parties. We also have tons of regular events and activities where you can socialize, usually for free. Hikes, game and sewing nights, excursions, sporting events and competitions are just a few examples of stuff we do together.

International activity is still in it's early stages for us. Otherwise you can drop by our office (Aur A105) every wednesday between 11:30 and 12:30 , there you can buy merch, chat with us, and do more official bussines if needed.
